Welcome to Part 2 of There’s a Cosmic Enforced Slowdown Ahead.
Part 1 covered a lot of information on the energy, the retrograde dates and its shadows, and the five main areas that tend to act up during Mercury Retrograde periods.
Part 2 is about What to Do and What Not to Do during Mercury Retrogrades.
Ready?
Let's dive into the lists of activities that are supported by the retrograde, and things that are not.
What Mercury Retrograde periods are ideal for:
Just like with the 9-vibration, activities that have that “re” preface seem to be supported in this cosmic-enforced slowdown period.
- Rest
- Relax
- Replenish (refill your well!)
- Rejuvenate
- Renew your Spiritual practice and/or self-care
- Reevaluate (anything and everything, especially what you want your life to be like)
- Reassess (where you are, what you want, what’s working, what’s not)
- Reimagine (your life, your work, your self-expression, your business)
- Rethink (just about anything, especially commitments)
- Revisit (plans, projects, ideas, etc.)
- Refocus (priorities, perspective
- Rework or edit existing drafts (books, documents, stories, proposals, other creations, etc.)
- Reconnect (with friends, people from your past, activities, and things that bring you joy)
- Remove clutter (physical, mental, digital)
- Reorganize (closet, drawers, office, house, etc.)
- Release things that no longer serve you
- Resolve past life issues
- Replace unhealthy habits with new habits that support you
And now, the Wait List...
It is a good idea to postpone these kinds of activities until the Mercury Retrograde period is finished and all is moving forward again:
- Making big, life-changing decisions (you may overlook something important)
- Purchasing anything expensive or of importance (car, house, boat, RV, etc., something might not be quite right or be what you thought it would be.)
- Signing legal documents (things get overlooked, missed, miscommunicated, and tend to go differently than planned)
- Starting a new job or business (Speaking from personal experience, things often turn out differently than you expected... which doesn't mean it will turn out badly; it will just be different than you thought it would be.)
- Buying computers, electronics, cell phones, or anything else technology-related (they tend to be quirky, like ghosts in the machine)
- Selling big ticket items (house, property, cars… again, the opportunity for mistakes, miscommunication, and missing important details shows up here.)
- Travel (delays, schedule changes, and miscommunication tend to happen here)
Word to the Wise:
You might think that the day Mercury goes direct (April 7) gives you the green light to move forward again.
My suggestion is to wait a few more days.
Energetically speaking, the days when the planet switches direction – moving forward (going direct) or backward (retrograde) – are more intense.
Think of it as a flashing yellow light and exercise caution.
This is only the first of three Mercury Retrogrades this year
